Curriculum and Assessment in the Early Years – An Introduction
The Early Years Foundation Stage is a crucial and distinct phase of a child’s education, with its own unique, developmentally-linked curriculum and a focus on holistic, observational assessment. This course includes: In this course, we will explore both statutory and non-statutory documents that are available to support Early Years Practice. ECTs and those new to the EYFS will learn more about the key principles that underpin Early Years Curriculum and Assessment. They will be encouraged to analyse and develop their own approach based on these key principles and expectations, whlst also being responsive to the unique needs and strengths of their setting. We will look at curriculum, pedagogy and assessment, and in our facilitated sessions spend time thinking about the management of planning and the environment.
